Machining, trailer and 4WD metalwork for Anna Bay

Anna Bay is roughly 15 minutes down Nelson Bay Road from us, and it’s the suburb with the sand.

Birubi Point, the Stockton Bight dunes, One Mile Beach and the tour operators running out onto the sand — plus everyone who drives their own 4WD out there. That produces a very specific kind of metal work.

Sand and salt work

Beach-run 4WDs. Salt water and beach sand together are brutal on steel. Bull bar and towbar brackets, roof rack and awning mounts, rod holder mounts, drawer and canopy brackets, recovery point mounting plates, repairs to anything that’s cracked from corrugations. On recovery points: we make and fit mounting plates and brackets to suit your vehicle and your rated recovery point. We do not supply the rated point itself and we do not certify load ratings — buy a rated point, and we will make it fit properly.

Boat trailers. Beach launching and shallow ramps mean trailers here work harder than most. Rusted members, winch posts, rollers and skids, and drawbar extensions.

Tour and hire operators. Businesses running vehicles or gear on the dunes break things regularly and can’t have a vehicle off the road for a fortnight waiting on a part. If it’s a bracket, a mount, a shaft, a pin or a bush, we can usually make it faster than it can be ordered.

Rural and semi-rural Anna Bay

Away from the beach it’s acreage — horses, sheds, small farms, and equipment that’s older than the parts supply for it. Slasher and mower parts, gate hardware, PTO components, brackets, pins, bushes, and one-off replacements copied from a broken sample.

Reverse engineering from a sample is normal work for us. No drawings needed — bring the broken part.

Materials that survive out here

If it’s near the beach, 316 stainless or galvanised. Not 304, not general-purpose steel with a coat of paint on it. We’ll tell you which one your job needs and why.

Bring the broken part in, or send a photo. 12 George Road, Salamander Bay. Mon–Fri. 0478 790 631.
